Ridgewood’s newest pharmacy takes organic and natural approach to healing

As Ridgewood continues to grow and diversify, two men are changing the way residents get their medicine.

Michael Raizberg and Paul Volynsky opened Nature’s Way Pharmacy on April 18, giving Ridgewood its first organic and homeopathic pharmacy and bringing a different approach to medicines to the neighborhood. Besides offering the standard fare in medicine, vitamins and supplements, Nature’s Way has a wide selection of natural and organic options for their customers to try as well.

Nature’s Way, located at 60-27 Myrtle Ave., is directly across the street from a Rite Aid Pharmacy, so Raizberg and Volynsky knew that they had to create a unique experience and offer different products in order to survive as a small business.

“Ultimately, we want to think outside the box,” Volynsky said. “We wanted to set ourselves apart and bring something into the neighborhood that people only see out inWhole Foods and natural markets in Park Slope and areas where people have moved out of the city. We wanted to bring this local because a lot of people are now very aware of harmful chemicals, additives and supplements.”

Raizberg and Volynsky are very hands-on coowners. They hand-pick all of the products that they sell and are available to speak with customers and answer any questions they may have about any and all of their products.

“We are very happy to bring this store into the neighborhood,” Raizberg said. “We have a lot of new products. A lot of organic, homeopathic products that you’re not going to see in the area. We are Ridgewood’s first organic and homeopathic store. We want to treat every single customer with respect, dignity and to make sure that they have the best service possible from a pharmacy.”

The store carries herbal and organic products such as Garden of Life, Gaia Herbs and Earth Mama Angel Baby.

“The reason why we picked Ridgewood is because we feel like Ridgewood is a growing area,” Raizberg said. “There’s a lot of diversity here. There are a lot of up-andcoming young professionals. There’s a lot of families and we want to provide this to this neighborhood because we know they are looking for this and they don’t have to go too far. We have these products here and we have very competitive prices.”

Nature’s Way even has a customer loyalty program which gives members 10 percent cashback on all purchases and $10 back for transferring their prescriptions to the pharmacy. They also offer competitive prices and free home and curbside delivery, and are a UPS access point.

Raizberg and Volynsky hope to continue to bring the people of Ridgewood top-of-the-line products and incredible customer service for a long time.
